Important Facts about St. Croix:

Christiansted:
The largest of two towns, Christiansted was constructed in 1735 and served as the capital of the Danish West Indies from 1755 to 1871. Christiansted has maintained its Dutch architecture, and offers shopping, dining and sightseeing in a setting that blends historical significance with a modern flair. Located on the waterfront, Christiansted can easily be explored by foot.

Frederiksted:
Established in 1752, Frederiksted is the second largest town in St. Croix. Known for its continuous shoreline, Frederiksted today serves as St. Croix's cruise ship dock. Frederiksted is also home to Fort Frederik, a restored 18th century fort where Governor Peter Von Scholten emancipated the slaves in 1848.
